With Naoyuki Sato, Masato Nakayama, and Junpei Fujita He has collaborated with Kohei Tanaka as a synthesizer programmer for several of his works, including Gravity Rush 2 and One Piece. He would later work on the anime Azur Lane, and Princess Connect! Re:Dive. It has spawned many arrangement albums and has also been performed live in concerts. His first major project was the soundtrack for the video game Octopath Traveler the soundtrack received positive reception from critics and fans, and was nominated for "Best Score/Music" at The Game Awards 2018. He left Konami to pursue his career as a freelancer, and began to expand his works for various non-gaming projects such as anime and puppet shows.
He had also produced several tracks for various music video game series such as Reflec Beat, Pop'n Music, and Jubeat under the alias Vivian.
After graduating from Tokyo College of Music, he began to work as a music composer for Konami, and worked on titles such as Quiz Magic Academy series, and arranged the national anthems for Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, which are also used in the further installments in the series. After which, he bought some sheet music for their songs and began to write his own compositions on the piano. He started taking piano lessons when he was a child, but became interested in music when he became a fan of the Japanese band Spitz. Octopath's soundtrack is very popular, but I don't think a lot of people knew about them.Nishiki was born on Jin Kanagawa Prefecture. But hey, the cover is sick so and looks nice on my shelve so it's totally worth it.Īnyway, the point of this thread is mostly to brag about my collection mention that those arrangements exist. Obviously, I had to buy the blue ray of said concert even though the tracks themselves were the same from the two previous CDs. Those dastards decided to take all those arrangements and make a concert out of it. Unfortunately, Square enix was not done in their quest to take all my money be exploting my endless Ocoptath love. "Darn it" I said out loud, "Couldn't they have just released both CDs at the same time ?" I asked, only to buy it anyway after listening to that delightful version of "River of life" (the part at 2:30 is so good holy shit): After hearing this:Ī few months after that, they made what was essentially the second part of those arrangements, the "Break and Boost, Extend" CD. I sure did, but it was far from over.Ī few months later SE released the "break and Boost" CD, featuring mutiple fan-favorite tracks from the game remixed by the original composer, Yasunori Nishiki. I you played Octopath Traveler, it is likely you enjoyed its music, you may have even bought the official soundtrack (shout out to SE for adding the tracklist in english as well).
